GENERAL OBJECTIVES TRAINING

The study program for Senior Medical-Health Technicians with a medical analysis option aims to promote the emergence of a new skills profile, in line with the country ‘s new national health strategies , within the limits of its professional responsibilities.

The medical-sanitary technician with medical analysis option must be:
able to meet the health needs of the population in the field of medical biology analyses within health structures, whatever the level;
able to participate, as far as it is concerned, in Public Health programs, in particular in the surveillance and response system for diseases with epidemic potential and in programs for improving community health.

Specific objectives

More specifically, the medical-sanitary technician with medical analysis option must be:
capable of carrying out medical biology analyses, particularly in the fields of biochemistry, bacteriology, hematology, parasitology, immunology, virology, anatomopathology and mycology, but also of carrying out control analyses of biological products and the environment with all the required quality assurance;
able to collect, sample and, if necessary, package and ship material and body fluids to a laboratory;

Educational principles

-Development of the student’s creativity and adaptability in line with the diversity of exercise levels, the evolution of science, technology and health needs.
-Importance given to student accountability to enable them, throughout their training, to develop their professional project.
-Consistency between training objectives, educational principles and professional practices.
-Educational monitoring based on support and personal development with a view to better learning.

Training characteristics

Each week of training consists of forty ( 40 ) hours;
The training is sequential, organized into eight areas, twenty- one modules and forty-four teaching units of varying duration related to the content taught;
Each training area gives rise to one or more assessments

DURATION OF TRAINING

The academic year lasts three years.
Learners benefit from course break periods each year as follows:
Two weeks for the end-of-year holidays;
Two weeks between two sequences;
A month of vacation at the end of the year;
Legal holidays;
The school year is organized according to the school’s educational project.
